Open every Saturday
Food is distributed every Saturday from 8 am to 10 am. There are no geographic boundaries for the food bank and it is open to any and all in need. Per Food Bank of the Rockies guidelines, we ask for name, address, and number in household.
The food bank at Henderson Community Church has been a ongoing mission of the church since 1985. Currently, about 20 families are assisted weekly by this small congregation. We are proud to partner with several community organizations including Food Bank of the Rockies, Brighton Shares the Harvest, Cultivando, Broomfield United Church, First Presbyterian Church of Brighton, and many other local groups. Thanks to the support of these and others, we are able to serve hundreds of families each year, including giving out over 55 turkeys each Thanksgiving.
Those who would like to help make a difference in their community are welcome to come volunteer or make a contribution. With other local food banks shutting down recently, we’re aware of our importance in the community, and grateful for the help we’ve received to continue serving others. Please contact the church office office@hendersonchurch,org or call 303-659-4748 if interested in volunteering.
Wanting to help more?
Every contribution helps, large or small. HCC invites both occasional or regularly scheduled donations to keep its shelves stocked. Holiday assistance is also always an option. At holidays, turkeys, hams, potatoes, stuffing, cake mixes and boxes of gelatin are especially appreciated. Year-round, nonperishable staples are constantly needed, e.g., soups, canned goods, pastas and dried beans, tuna, cereal, and peanut butter. There is not a time or season when help would not be greatly needed and greatly appreciated.
