What to Expect
A congregation of the United Church of Christ (UCC), Henderson Community Church (HCC) is an inclusive community for all people, embracing differences of race, nationality, gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, marital status, mental and physical ability as well as socioeconomic backgrounds. Our congregation expresses its faith joyfully through worship, fellowship, education, and service.
If you are looking for a megachurch where you’ll disappear into the crowd, the “no one’s going to know your name” kind of place — HCC’s not the church for you. If you’re looking for a church that’s going to tell you what to believe, or what the answer is before you even know the question — HCC is probably not the place for you.
But if you are looking for a place to make deep connections, explore your faith, and participate in traditions that connect you to believers around the world and throughout time — HCC might just be the place for you. We’re a small, vibrant church navigating ministry in the 21st century, and can’t wait to meet you!
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28
For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. - Hebrews 6:10
Food Pantry Outreach
The HCC Food Pantry has been part of our mission since 1985 and continues to serve the needs of our community. We are proud to partner with several community organizations to help feed hundreds of families each year.
Doing His Time is a prison ministry, aimed at helping ex-offenders take steps towards successful re-integration back into the community through a program called the 72 Hour Fund™.
Women’s Homelessness Initiative
WHI is a consortium of churches working through Capitol Hill UM to give sanctuary and hospitality every night to women who would be on our streets. What WHI offers is a chance to have these women – our women – be known, heard and cared for with compassion, dignity, respect and presence of heart.
